The Donkey Divers Returned to Bonaire. While we spent as much time as we could diving the reefs of the Marine Park, we did come up for air once in a while.

DDsanc1.jpg (44373 bytes) Donkeys visit the Donkeys
The Donkey Divers returned to the Donkey Sanctuary on Bonaire. We visited with the donkeys that are responsible for our name and made a donation to the sanctuary. This is a privately run operation so they need donations to continue to care for the weaker animals on the island.
Julio.jpg (50754 bytes) Hangin' at Julio's

Here we are Hangin' at Julio's. Stephanie, Linda, Stan and I are hangin' at our favorite sandwich and beverage establishment in Bonaire. This is where we go when no place else is serving food or we just want to go someplace kewl to hang and get good burgers and fries.

The Twins!
These two lovely ladies are twin sisters from Holland. Marianna (left) is the bar tender and Elisa (right) is a waitress at Mona Lisa, a great restaurant in downtown Kralendijk. They make the perfect tag team as they mix great drinks and serve up the best food on the island. The twins still can't hold a candle to June at Plum Krazy's when it comes to service and mixology.

DDAlex.jpg (60936 bytes) Honorary Member
The Donkey Divers pose for a picture with their newest honorary member. Alex was a great divemaster on the boat dives that we did. He was able to show us several seahorses, turtles, spotted eagle rays and frog fish. He is a real character that fit in with our group really well.
Bontank.jpg (71625 bytes) Fill Up!
Here Johnny loads the tanks after Wally checks the pressure before we go for a couple of shore dives.
BonBudD.jpg (66635 bytes) Donkey Diver Headquarters
Donkey Divers hang out the flag at our headquarters at Buddy Dive.
BonJD2.jpg (89593 bytes) Jeff Davis
Donkey Divers gather gear after a dive at Jeff Davis.
DDsnac2.jpg (75164 bytes) Donkey Sanctuary
The Donkey Divers spent some time visiting with the donkeys. These two young dokeys were orphaned when their mothers died (one from starvation and one from and automobile accident).
DDsanc4.jpg (75362 bytes) Older donkeys came over to visit with us. Some seemed to remember us from our last visit three years ago.
Drtolk.jpg (64667 bytes) Veterinarians on Bonaire
I wasn't the only veterinarian on the island. Dr. Christa Tolksdorf flew in (and out) on the same plane and stayed in the same resort as the Donkey Divers. She practices in South Pasadena, FL (near Largo).
stepwilb.jpg (31076 bytes) Dr. Summers found a very interesting new friend. She seems to meet someone new every time she goes to Bonaire.
snst2001.jpg (54440 bytes) This is just one of the many beautiful sunsets we enjoyed from the island.
